CLEANUP TIPS AND SAMPLE ITINERARY
To get you started, we’ve recapped the key points covered at our cleanup seminars to help you have a successful Coastal, Country or City Cleanup. Included is a sample itinerary of a typical cleanup event.
CLEANUP GUIDELINES AND CHECKLIST
This handy kit contains important cleanup information and a pre-cleanup checklist, cleanup day checklist and post-cleanup checklist. This information includes all the steps to take and materials to consider before, during and after your cleanup event.
SAFETY & SITE CHECK GUIDE
These important safety recommendations should be shared with all your cleanup participants before commencing the cleanup activity. Also included is a useful list of things to check when visiting the site before your cleanup day.
ONSITE BRIEFING GUIDE
Team captains should always commence the cleanup with an onsite briefing for their participants. Here is a handy ‘cheat sheet’ to help you along, it contains briefing notes and guidelines for recording data.
Download and print these standardised data cards (Coastal, Country or City) to record information on what you collect during the cleanup. We urge all teams to be as detailed and accurate as possible in this citizen science activity, to help us better understand the issue and engage partners in solutions. Please note: ALL cleanups are requested to complete and return data cards. Once your cleanup is finished, you must return your data using our online form.
CERTIFICATE OF COMPLETION
Upon completing a cleanup event, participants may download and customize a certificate to acknowledge their participation.
